The mosaic flooring stands out in restaurants as a strong, decorative, and durable element. It helps to structure the space, facilitate movement, and create a unique atmosphere, in dialogue with the architecture and ambiance of the place. In collaboration with the agency Kerylos Interiors, Decomosa designed and created the 110 m2 mosaic floor of the restaurant Les Parisiens, within the Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain Hôtel by Thibeault Sombardier.
When mosaic art comes to a Chef's home
Bespoke Mosaic Flooring – Restaurant La Scène – Paris 8th
In collaboration with the design studio Toro & Liautard, Florence Berthet Sonsino created the entire mosaic floor of La Scène, the restaurant of renowned chef Stéphanie Le Quellec, located on Avenue Matignon in Paris’s 8th.
Like a big gentle wave flowing across the space, the unique mosaic floor features soft, soothing tones that enhance the restaurant’s refined atmosphere.
When mosaic energize a place
Colorful Mosaic Flooring – Brasserie Grand Café Capucines – Paris 1st – 2022
The mosaic of the brewery Le Grand Café Capucines, near the Opera, unfolds like a true pictorial work on the floor. In collaboration with the architecture agency Toro & Liautard, the composition of thousands of colored glass paste tesserae forms a vibrant floral pattern, where shades of blue, green, orange, and pink respond to each other under the lights of the bar. This creation, entirely assembled by hand, harmoniously integrates into the lively atmosphere of the place.
Between Shadow and Light, the Mosaic Comes to Life
Mosaic Flooring – Restaurant Les Bains – Paris 3rd – 2014
For the restaurant of the iconic establishment Les Bains, the workshop Decomosa created a 200 m2 mosaic on the floor made of glass paste and stoneware, featuring a deconstructed black and gray checkerboard pattern, punctuated by sparkling touches that subtly capture the light. Entirely handcrafted, this graphic mosaic interacts with the intimate atmosphere of the place and the contemporary furniture. Combining elegance, durability, and modernity, this creation installed by the company EDM demonstrates the ability of mosaic to embody the identity of a space while meeting the aesthetic and technical requirements of a high-end restaurant.
Mosaic Logos and Signatures for Restaurants
The mosaic embodies the identity of a restaurant at first glance. Whether it's a logo embedded in the floor or a sign name at the entrance, each creation visually translates the universe of the place. The Decomosa workshop designs and creates these custom pieces, as for the restaurants Andaaz and Brass & Co, where the graphic pattern and typography have been entirely reproduced in mosaic.
